Luka Đukić, the brother of the late Lazar Đukić, has chosen to withdraw from the 2024 CrossFit Games. During the third heat of event 2 on Friday morning, Luka Đukić was absent from lane 1. Following the tragic death of his brother, Lazar Đukić, during event 1, Luka decided not to continue competing. “YOU LOVED THE SPORT THAT DIDN’T LOVE YOU BACK,” HE WROTE.
“No tribute will ever give you back to me. This is something that could have been prevented and there is no way of going around it.
However, I have huge respect for every athlete no matter how they decided to deal with this situation. If something, we knew what it takes to be on that floor.
Maybe there will be some time in the future where I will be able to share more, for now, this is everything I will share on this matter.
